Introduction |
🎯 Learning Target:
I can create models that show the shape of four macromolecules: carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids.
I can identify the function of the four macromolecules in living things, and give examples of each.
Macromolecule = BIG molecule! Sometimes macromolecules are also called polymers.
What to Do |
Instructions
Follow along with your teacher to make paper models of the 4 types of macromolecules. There is also an image at the end that uses diagrams to show you how to make the cut-outs that you can refer to, and videos if you need to do these at home.
After you cut out your four macromolecules, glue or tape them in your notebook, and fill out the information sheets with the structure and function of each macromolecule.
See the Interactive Notebook slides at the bottom of this page for help setting up your notebook pages so that all the information fits.
This is the information you need to include in the book for EACH macromolecule:
-
- Type of Macromolecule
- Draw and label the monomer on the model
- Function of the macromolecule
- Examples of the macromolecule
- Lab Test Results (Leave about a half page for each macromolecule for lab results from a lab we will do)
